India freezes bank accounts of TickTok owner BiteDance
India has frozen the accounts of BitDance, the owner of the banned Chinese app TikTok.
BiteDance has approached the court with a request to withdraw it.
The company still has about 1,300 employees in India.
At the same time, BitDance responded that they would fully co-operate with the authorities' move and that they were a company that respected the laws of each country.
They said the move by the tax authorities was wrong but they would abide by the law.
